Conserving energy is high on most corporate agendas. Next to raw materials, energy represents the largest single cost of manufacturing process. We recognise thermal insulation as a valuable investment and a tremendous asset to energy conservation/process efficiency. Properly maintained insulation contributes significantly to a platforms operating profitability.
Across Europe, Bilfinger is one of the largest suppliers of insulation contract services and at Bilfinger Salamis UK we have extensive knowledge, experience and expertise associated with the provision of insulation on both project work and term maintenance activities. Our goal is to supply, install, maintain and replace insulation in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
We have an in depth understanding of our customers' requirements and are able to formulate the most cost effective solutions, delivering insulation solutions as either a stand alone service or as part of a SIP/MSIP/MEISIP package. Our team of experienced engineers focus on delivery, and consistently assess key innovations and new products from manufacturers.
Heat and Cryogenic service applications
Our engineers have a wide knowledge of insulation required in the maintenance of temperatures for the efficiency of process operations. Many of our insulators are trained in specific products to meet the needs of client's insulation specifications.
Bilfinger provide and install single and multi-layer applications to process pipework and equipment to assist in noise reduction across assets and sites. Specific training needs are catered for through manufacturer application sessions, these can be arranged by our in-house specialist engineering team.
Our engineers have extensive knowledge and experience in the installation of various frost protection solutions, including insulated jacket systems. These are widely used in the petrochemical industry, and are easily installed and removed should there be heat trace or other requirements for routine inspection and testing.
All Bilfinger insulators are equipped to remove and install various types of personnel protection, whether to client specification or the Norsok 004 insulation standard. These range from solid insulation products to stainless steel or other metal cages. These can be pre-fabricated on site, or ordered from an onshore manufacturer for shipping and installation by Bilfinger insulation operatives.
Bilfinger has extensive experience in the application of fire proofing coatings for pipework, vessels, and any equipment where protection is required for up to 30 minutes for hydrocarbon fires according to ISO 834.
Metallic and non-metallic cladding finishes
There are many different types of cladding finishes available, with specific capabilities and protections offered.
Bilfinger has expertise in each application, including engineering a specific product to ensure the best possible protection to the underlying insulation materials.
