Bilfinger's Gavin shortlisted for SPE OAA Young Professional Award

Bilfinger Salamis UK is delighted to announce that Project Manager Gavin Morris has been shortlisted in the Young Professional category at the 2020 SPE Offshore Achievement Awards.

The category recognises the professional capability and wider contribution made to the offshore industry by individuals under 35.

Gavin was shortlisted following his success in leading Bilfinger’s work on the Culzean project as Project Manager. Alongside the Bilfinger project team, Gavin managed the campaign from onshore preparatory work through to completion, overseeing all work scopes across multiple disciplines. He led the team in the safe delivery of over half a million man-hours by 565 employees across 39 trades.

Aside from his core role, Gavin has been active in the introduction of digitalisation intiatives to the business. Tasked with making the business’s mobilisation process more efficient, Gavin led a team to introduce an app which enables employees to receive their mobilisation details on their smartphone. The app has been a great success, with over 95% of the offshore workforce choosing to receive mobilisation details this way.

Seven of the offshore industry’s rising stars have been selected to take part in a selection interview process, where a panel of judges will talk to each individual about their career to date and future aspirations, before selecting a short list of three finalists.

The award winner will be announced at the upcoming SPE Offshore Achievement Awards in Aberdeen on March 19, 2020.
