Bilfinger shortlisted for SPE Offshore Achievement Award

Bilfinger Salamis UK hasbeen shortlisted for an award at the 2017 Society of Petroleum Engineers Offshore Achievement Awards.

The Offshore Achievement Awards is the longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector, covering all aspects from supply to upstream operations and offshore renewables.

Bilfinger Salamis UK is shortlisted for the Collaboration Award, in a joint entry with Amec Foster Wheeler and Maersk Oil North Sea. The Collaboration Award recognises efforts to collaborate which has delivered an outstanding result, or showcased excellence in working together.

For over thirty years, the awards have been celebrating and encouraging innovation and collaboration in the North Sea. Many winners have gone on to become global heavyweights in the offshore energy sector, using their recognition at the Offshore Achievement Awards as a springboard for growth.

Ian Phillips, chairman of SPE Aberdeen and chief executive of the Oil and Gas Innovation Centre, said: 

“The sheer quality and variety of entries we have received this year reflects everything that is great about our industry, particularly our ability to adapt to a volatile economic environment.

"It’s clear that service companies have truly risen to the challenge, providing operators with some of the world’s most advanced technology whilst remaining as cost effective as possible."

He added: “As ever, our esteemed panel of industry experts have spent a significant amount of time judging each entry before selecting the strongest contenders. I would like to congratulate all those who have been shortlisted for the 2017 awards, and I look forward to celebrating the winners.”

The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Thursday the 23rd of March at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre.
